Green Wine Competition

Mt Tehama Winery honored again.

The first International Green Wine competition
was held in May, 2008 and Mt Tehama Winery was awarded a Bronze medal. We were especially pleased with this honor because many of the other wines being judged were significantly more expensive than our products.

The Green Wine competition is designed to "create a roadmap to great wine for the green-minded consumer, solving the problem of which organic wines do I want to buy?"

Green Wine Judging: The competition was adjudicated by an all-star cast of wine industry leaders, including leading wine journalists, and vintners. Head judge Rebecca Murphy is the founder of one of the nation's oldest wine competitions, while Honorary Chariman Paul Dolan is widely recognized as the father of organic winemaking in the US.

Prizes were awarded in four categories depending on the level of the winery's organic development.

The panel has now published a Consumer's Green Wine shopping list based on the results. Click here for the list (requires Adobe Acrobat).
